Tennis Court Closures On Wednesday April 2
On Wednesday, April 2 courts 1-2-3-5-6-7-8 will be closed. These closings are for tree trimming which requires that very large equipment be on site. The courts that remain open must be entered via the back of the courts; there will be no sidewalk entry from either parking lot. Players must walk down the grass behind the courts to enter their court.
Tentative schedule for Tuesday, April 8 is that courts 8-9-10-11-12 will be closed. Stay tuned.
Dry Area on Court 6
The court maintenance team is aware of a dry area in a double’s alley on court 6 and they are working with the people who built the courts to resolve the structural court issue. This may take several months to resolve. If you are assigned court 6 and choose not to use it, please let the Logo Building know if you need assistance canceling your court. Thank you.
Attention All Tennis Racquet Stringers
On the new and improved SCTA website, we would like to include a list of tennis racket stringers as a tennis community service. If you would like to be listed, please send your full name, cell phone number and/or email address by April 8th. Please email us.
Women Tennis Organization Hosts Match Point
WTO is once again sponsoring Match Point at the Mix and Match Tournament this year.
Match Point is played in pairs. Only 1 point is played between 2 pairs. Winners move on until the last pair wins. Awards for winners and runners-up.
It will be held on April 26th at noon on courts 1 & 2. Three categories: women, men, and mixed doubles. Don’t have a partner – no problem, one will be assigned. Cost is $5 per person per category charged to your CAM card. Each partner must sign up individually. Match Point is open to all players.
Registration is available from March 29th through April 26th. On-line registration form can be found here: Match Point Registration. Flyer is also attached for your viewing.
All money raised goes to promoting tennis in our community by offering high school tennis scholarships and supporting local charities such as Bluffton Self Help, Public Tennis Inc., and Pledge the Pink Foundation.
Tennis, Treats & Sweets
WTO needs volunteers to bake for our Mix & Match BAKE SALE on April 24 & 25. Proceeds will be donated to the Memorial Scholarship program, Public Tennis and other charities so let’s spread some sweetness for a great cause.
We are looking for delicious teats like cookies, brownies, blondies, cupcakes, and lemon bars, muffins, and sugar/gluten free options – but feel free to get creative. See attached PDF.
If you like to contribute, please RSVP to Nancy Black at nblack1682@gmail.com by April 18th.

Court Usage Statistics
From time to time you may have encountered discussion on the topic of court usage by SCTA players vs. court usage by non-SCTA players. Here are some statistics based on 60 weeks worth of data going back to January of 2024.
The statistics are based on “play events”. A play event is an individual player on a specific court at a specific time on a specific date. A doubles match generates 4 play events. A single person on the ball machine generates 1 play event.
Total play events for the entire 60 week period: 58,709
SCTA member play events: 49,450 ( 84.2 %)
Non-member play events: 9,259 ( 15.8 %)
